How GPS Works

The GPS system is very neat. It depends on very precisely synchronised atomic clocks carried on each GPS satellite. The satellites transmit a variety of spreadspectrum signals in the low microwave bands. The key civilian signals are the Navigation signal and the Coarse/Acquisition signal.
